Tuesday, the 19th of June 2007, Paul Cayard, one of the most important skippers in the world will be back in Lugano to participate to the opening ceremony of the RC44 Lugano Yacht Club Cup and to take part in the panel conference that will follow. Paul Cayard, in this days in Valencia with the Spanish team Desafio, will return to Lugano for the first time since 2005, when he participated to the 3rd edition of the Gran Premio Città di Lugano Match Race. At the end of this event he gladly accepted to be the godfather of the neo constituted Lugano Yacht Club. Last year he wasn't able to take part in the most important Swiss-Italian event with his friend and colleague Russell Coutts since he was involved in the Volvo Ocean Reace with the “Pirate of the Carribbean” Team. Both skippers will meet this year in Lugano to open the regatta organized by the LYC as a result of the Kiwi champion's proposal.
