At the awards dinner for the Gran Premio Città di Lugano, Paul Cayard gave an unexpected and welcome talk, explaining the theme behind his new sailing project: televised sailing for the general public, with short regattas that are visible from land; the kind of sailing that could lead to the creation of a circuit of regattas similar to Formula 1 racing.
This new projects calls for a spectacular boat with cutting-edge technology that is easy to manoeuvre.
Russell Coutts, the famous America's cup skipper, is also contributing his talents and insights to this “dream project”. Together with Cayard, Coutts believes that sailing still has a long way to go to conquer the international media.
